Monthly Updates Moving Forward

I want to let everyone know that, moving forward, we’ll be transitioning to monthly updates. Spacing them out a bit more will allow me to provide more thorough and meaningful updates, while also giving me the time I need to put them together properly.

Introducing a Team Member

Many of you are familiar with my brother, Joshua. He’s been with me in Aceituno since the very beginning—long before Maudilio was part of the team. Joshua has been building relationships and trust with the community for over 5 ½ years. He has a deep heart for the people here and is passionate about being a friend to them and sharing the love of Jesus. Joshua is facing some big changes in his life and needs people who can commit to supporting him monthly so he can continue this important work. Would you prayerfully consider joining his team of supporters? Your support would help ensure that this work in Aceituno continues to grow and thrive.

Water System

Setting up the filtration system and hooking up the pump to the well has been anything but smooth sailing. While we haven’t faced any major issues, there have been plenty of smaller obstacles along the way. It seems like every time we’re close to finishing, something else comes up that adds a few extra steps. That said, it’s slowly but surely moving forward. Last week, Maudilio and a visiting friend were able to install the pump, which was a huge milestone! Watching the water spray out for the first time was incredibly encouraging. We can’t wait for the day we can start providing clean water to the community!

School Sponsorship

As many of you know, we run a school sponsorship program that helps keep youth in school here in Guatemala. The school year just started this month, and I’m currently looking for a couple more sponsors to help students continue their education. Right now, we have 2 students in need of sponsorship. If you’re interested in helping, please reach out to me for more details. I’d be happy to walk you through the process and see if it’s something you can commit to. We’re passionate about doing all we can to support these kids in their education!

Personal Update

January has been a busy month for us! We’ve had a lot of visitors come spend the day with us in Aceituno. It’s always a joy to show people what we do and introduce them to the amazing people we work with. Our wonderful friends, Mervin and Liz, came for a visit last week with their kids, which was such a fun and encouraging time. We were so blessed to get that time with them!

While it’s fun to have visitors, it does throw off our usual routine, so we’re working on catching up and getting back into the swing of things. That said, we’re always happy to welcome anyone who wants to visit! Don’t hesitate to come if you ever have the chance!

We also had the chance to take a quick trip to Maudilio’s hometown in Quiché, Guatemala. Though it was a short visit, it was great to visit his town again and spend time with his family.

As always, thank you so much for your continued support and prayers. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I ask that you continue to keep us in yours. Please pray for Maudilio as he works to finish the water system and get that program running smoothly. Pray for me as I make some adjustments in my role with the ministry. And please pray for Joshua as he works on building his support team.

And know that, as you pray for us, I will be praying for you too. If there’s anything specific I can be praying for you about, don’t hesitate to reach out. It would be an honor to support you in prayer as well!
