About our ministry

Aliento

At Aliento, we believe that every child deserves love, care, and the opportunity to thrive. That’s why we are thrilled to provide three meals a week to children facing food insecurity. We also work to accomplish this through our formula program where we combat malnutrition head-on, ensuring that these young ones have the nutrients they need to grow strong and healthy. By nourishing their bodies, we strive to nurture their souls, bringing them closer to God’s love.
 
In addition to this, we also believe that education is a gateway to endless possibilities, and we are committed to empowering young minds to reach their full potential. To accomplish this, we have a sponsorship program to help send kids to school.
But our mission doesn’t stop there – we are committed to expanding our reach and making an even greater impact!

Here is how it works

Feeding Program

We provide three free lunches every week to the community of Florido Aceituno. By offering nourishing meals, we strive to address food insecurity and ensure that individuals in need have access to nutritious sustenance.

Formula Program

We partner with a ministry that has developed specialized formulas to combat malnutrition. Our formulas cater to the nutritional needs of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, as well as children aged 1-5, ensuring they receive the essential nutrients for optimal health and development.

Education Sponsorship

We believe in the power of education to transform lives. Through our sponsorship program, we support children who lack access to educational opportunities. By providing financial assistance, we enable them to pursue their dreams and build a brighter future, empowering them in God’s name.

MEET THE MISSIONARIES

Maudilio & Taryn

Get ready to meet Maudilio and Taryn, a young couple on a mission to spread love and hope in Guatemala, all for the glory of God. They’ve been married since April 2022 and come from two different worlds – Maudilio from Guatemala and Taryn from the USA. But their love for each other and their shared faith have brought them together in the most beautiful way. Taryn started Aliento in 2019, and after getting married in 2022, Maudilio quit his full-time job to join the ministry. Together they work to run Aliento and all of the programs that are mentioned above. On top of that, they foster a teenage girl from the village of Aceituno. The idea of this started because there are no real opportunities for young people in this village. They took her in aiming to offer her a brighter future and quality education while sharing the love of God with her. But, it goes even deeper than that, Maudilio and Taryn love her like a daughter, and they believe that God sent her to them in order that they can guide her towards Him. So, together, the three of them are on a journey, following God and figuring out one step at a time what He wants them to do.
