It’s been a minute! I apologize, I have been traveling and couldn’t get our normal updates out. But we should be back to bi-weekly updates now!
Aliento Property
We are land owners!! We officially have the paperwork for the new property and we are so excited about the next steps. We have gotten a couple donations to start working at the property, but we are looking to raise more so that we can get all the work done before moving to serving the food there. Our goal is to start meeting there at the beginning of the new year!
We are working on getting exact numbers for this project and we will send those out in our next post.
Water Project
We also have the drilling rig! After 4 months of waiting, it is finally here. Maudilio could not be more excited! He has been meeting with an engineer to lay out an exact plan for drilling the well and building a water tank. He has also been talking with others that drill wells to get as much advice as possible. Please pray for him as he makes big decisions and starts moving forward with drilling! And pray that we are able to get a good group of guys to work this project with us.
Because of these big work projects starting, we are very much seeing the need for a pickup. The plan is that once this first well is done in Aceituno, we will be going to other villages to drill more wells. And we can’t do this well or other wells with our current vehicles. Right now we have a Rav4 and we have an old Hyundai Grace van. But neither of these are very ideal for the work projects we are getting into. So, we are praying about selling one of those vehicles and putting it toward a good pickup. However, even selling one of those, that still won’t be enough to buy a pickup. We are working on coming up with a plan for this now and will update you as soon as possible.
Personal Update
On a personal note, I (Taryn) just got back from the states. I had a work trip to Kentucky lined up and decided to head over to Utah to visit Maudilio’s sisters after I was done with work. And unfortunately, sales were way down at work so I ended up leaving early. But, I still got to go to Utah and I had a blast hanging out with my sisters-in-law and getting to visit Utah for the first time ever. It was a beautiful state and I am sure I will be back there again some day. But for now, I am very happy to be back home!
While I was in the States, Maudilio kept things running smoothly here. He stayed busy running around getting all the paperwork done to pick up the drilling machine. And now we are starting to get back into our normal schedule together.
All of this stuff going on is a bit overwhelming at times. These are two big projects that we are excited about, but it will be hard to balance them at the same time. Please pray for wisdom and strength as we work all of these details out. And pray that God will give the right people the desire to partner with us financially in these projects. We know that God is good, and we know that He will provide in His timing!
Thank you for taking the time to read, and for your support and encouragement! We have a lot of stuff going on and a lot of costs coming up. But we know that God will provide in His time! If any of you are interested in joining our support team, or volunteering with us, please reach out to me, and we can set up a time to chat!
