Today’s update a more encouraging and upbeat than the last one, and for that, we are grateful!
Property and Water project
We don’t have much update on the property except that in a couple days we should get the transfer with the rest of the money, and then we should be able to purchase the land! Once we make the purchase, we will want to get working on it ASAP. We will need to build a wall on one side of the property, and we will also need to raise the wall all around, replace the gate, fix up the building, windows, bathroom, etc. It will be a lot of work, but we can’t wait to get started! Please pray for the funds for all the work to come in.
The drilling rig is actually in Guatemala now!! The shipping container is unloaded now, they are working on the paperwork with customs and soon we will get word to go pick it up! We are looking forward to getting started on this project that Maudilio has been working towards for the last 9 months.
Feeding Program
God is so faithful. This past month has been the hardest month for the feeding program in the last 5 years. I shared in our last update that we were taking things one day at a time and trusting that God would make a way. And I am overjoyed to share that we did not have to cancel the food even one day!! God provided at the last minute on multiple occasions, and I believe that it will a way to test our faith and grow it. This past Friday as I said goodbye to Sucely, our cook and good friend in Aceituno, I told her that I didn’t know if there would be any funds for food this week. And on my two hour drive home, I received two emails about gifts that came in that would get us through this month and more! I am blown away every time by God’s goodness and faithfulness. He cares more for these people than I do. And He will not abandon them now.
Personal Update
Life has been stressful, discouraging, hard, and tiring recently. We have been struggling to find good quality time together, and with all the stress of the program, it has been even harder. But, over the weekend, we were able to make a last-minute trip to Jutiapa, Guatemala to visit our friends for a birthday celebration. It was so encouraging! We absolutely love our friends. They are the kind of people that fill you up just by being around them. These past two days were such a blessing for us, and we are so grateful for that opportunity.
That being said, we could still use prayer in the areas of tiredness and discouragement. Pray that we would lean on God’s strength and not our own. And especially pray as these new projects will be underway soon. It will add a lot more work, but I know it will also be a blessing.
As always, thank you for following along with us in this ministry. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or want to know how to get involved!
